"Don't read the comments" isn't going to fly when your kids are old enough to watch YouTube videos without you around, let alone managing their own TikTok accounts. But learning how to be a responsible commenter is a skill that comes in handy with texts, emails, or even the chat bar on Zoom with classmates and teachers. So this week on Out-Tech Your Kids, we're tackling the question, "How do we teach our kids to make good commenting choices?"
We cover a few simple questions kids can learn to ask themselves before they press send, and discuss the bigger concept of "owning your words." Even if they think their exchanges are private.
In just under 15 minutes, we'll have you thinking differently about how to talk to your kids about engaging respectfully, responsibly, and safely online.
