Parents beware: The Siri 911 prank is going around again.

My son just texted me: "Mom, Say 18 to Siri, but then watch your screen." Sure enough, a countdown for calling 911 pops up. Thankfully, I was watching my screen like he told me to and I was able to stop it.

Turns out, this is not new, and in fact, it started with the number "108" a couple of years ago, however it seems to work with numbers 17, 18, and 19 as well. I didn't try anything else but suffice it to say, I'm not going to ask Siri any numbers anytime soon. It's actually quite a helpful trick if you or your kids happen to be in any sort of trouble. However, it's going around Instagram feeds (which is where my son found it) and no surprise, kids are trying it. Back in 2017, there was a huge problem with emergency lines getting clogged with prank calls. So, if you hear your kids talking to Siri, keep an ear out. And if they don't know about this, well, I'll leave it up to you whether you want to mention it to them or not. Digital parenting keeping us on our toes, am I right?
