podcasts I've listened to, and this month, well, let's just say I branched out a bit from the True Crime I've been obsessing over lately. And I'm so glad I did.

Forever 35
I've grown to love this podcast from writers Kate Spencer and Doree Shafrir, who remind listeners that they're not experts, just friends who love serums. They have episodes of various topics like body positivity and setting boundaries with a slew of pretty cool guests, then often do mini-episodes were they answer reader calls and emails. They initially gave off a bit of an NPR Schwetty Balls SNL skit vibe (I really love you ladies, I do), and their regular shows are very long (like over an hour). But they have great product recommendations, and it's a podcast I can put on while I'm working on not feel like I need laser-focused attention to enjoy. And it doesn't hurt that they're very positive people, which is refreshing in a podcast world of sturm und drang.
Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness
Like most of the world, I've been fangirling over Jonathan Van Ness, and his podcast is no exception. I initially thought it would be light and fluffy, but the girl gets down to the business in his fabulous JVN sort of way. He talks to everyone from doctors to lawyers, and some famous people mixed in. He's a fantastic interviewer who asks really awesome questions. And his ad reads are hilarious. Color me impressed.
Over My Dead Body: The Prodfather
If you enjoyed the first season of Over My Dead Body, you'll probably enjoy this short 2-episode special, The Prodfather. I'm not going to lie: it's pretty disturbing, but it's definitely thought-provoking. You'll be sad that it's only two episodes long. I won't say any more because it's easily spoiled!

Slow Burn
My husband turned me onto Slow Burn, which covers the whole Monica Lewinsky scandal. You'll get an in-depth look at how it all played out, well beyond anything you saw in the news. My only wish was that Monica Lewinsky was interviewed, as I believe her insights would have been extremely valuable (Full disclosure: I'm a huge fan of hers). This podcast has taken a bit of a backseat, but it's still on my subscribe list.
The Sporkful
I've listened to Dan Pashman's fun food-focused show for years now, so much so that my son is a huge fan as well. I took a little hiatus when I got hooked into the True Crime podcasts, but I've started revisiting him lately and I'm so glad I did. He's one of the best interviewers I've heard, and he doesn't shy away from the hard hitting topics like race and gender as they relate to food. And well, his pots-slash-CBD redux episode is epic.
