8 podcasts I listened to, some of which I loved and a couple that I sort of hate-listened. Ha. Well, this month I added 5 podcasts to my list, most of which I've been really enjoying. Over My Dead Body
From the folks at Wondery (who also brought you the popular Dr. Death), this first season "Tally" tells the story of the murder of a popular law professor, Dan Markel, who was killed in broad daylight in his car. What makes this true crime podcast so compelling is that it includes actual FBI wiretap recordings of involved parties. Good luck trying not to binge listen this one.
Real Women, Real Stories
So, I'm completely biased in sharing this podcast because I'm actually the host of this new podcast from the founders of
One Tough Bitch. But even though I'm intimately involved with the interviews and production of this podcast, I still think it's a fabulous listen. Each week, I interview amazing women and share their incredibly inspiring stories. If you want an easy listen that will give you a gut punch of gratitude, this is it.
To Live and Die in L.A.
Hosted by Rolling Stone reporter Neil Strauss, To Live and Die in L.A. attempts to solve the mysterious disappearance of model and actress Adea Shabani. If you're like me, you'll be instantly sucked into this fascinating story, that is pretty much unfolding as Neil is recording this podcast. There have been some critiques of this podcast, particularly about Neil's interviewing tactics (he's speaking with friends and family of victims as news is actually breaking), but to me, it's still worth a listen.

Uncover: The Village (and Season 1: Escaping NXIVM)
I was instantly drawn towards this true crime podcast that uncovers a possible serial killer in the gay community in Toronto. After binging the first two episodes, I jumped back to their first season, which dives into the world of NXIVM, a cult-slash-MLM which has been making the news very recently. Warning: The first episode was not for the faint of heart, so be sure you're listening with headphones or alone in the car. It is not kid-friendly.
Obsession
I really wanted to like this podcast, and even though I did learn a word I had never heard before (and have actually used several times since - look up Limerance), Obsession felt very much what I think it was designed to be: an ad for the upcoming movie Greta. I love the concept, but I don't feel as though the execution made this something I would want to continue listening to.
