Who ever thought that one day, the fine art of thoughtfully handwritten, artful notes would be considered punk?  Well, the husband-wife team behind Punk Post is who. And they are determined to bring handwriting back in the coolest way possible. Even if it's not yours. I can't tell you how many times I wish I had my own Emily McDowell when it came to addressing my own thank you notes and cards, and that's pretty much the gist of this smart service. Well, you won't get her specifically, but you can have your cards -- both inside and out -- hand-scripted and illustrated by incredibly talented, real human artists, whose styles you might recognize from brands like Kate Spade, Tory Burch, or the pages of Vanity Fair. They really are amazing! Just download the app (iOS or Android), pick your fave, and send your first card out for free. After that, you're paying $6 a card including mailing, which, when you think about it, is about the price of a card off the rack plus postage these days And yet, so, so much cooler. Maybe even punk. At least depending on which handwriting style you choose. For an extra buck, they'll even pop in a favorite photo from your Instagram account, and add a sprinkling of confetti, just for fun.     While it could get expensive to do all your holiday cards this way if you're wildly popular -- or from Salt Lake City, like my boyfriend (ha) -- I do think it's a brilliant resource for dinner party invitations, for thank you notes, or for a special pick-me-up for a friend who could use a little cheer right now. And it's way more special than a digital card, or certainly an email or text; shortcuts I use too often myself and would like to stop. Maybe even starting right now.
