This interactive IKEA catalog is one you'll never want to recycle.
There are certain catalogs I get that go directly from the mailbox to the recycling bin, and a very few that I actually take the time to look through. The IKEA catalog is one of them. However now that they've taken an amazing interactive leap with their new catalog, I don't think I'll be getting rid of it any time soon.
The IKEA 2013 catalog is coming, and it's an amazing 328-page whopper that will soon be filling happy mailboxes. As if there weren't enough to drool over furniture-wise, the coolest part is that it's actually an interactive catalog that you can use your mobile phone with. No joke.
Download the IKEA app (for iOS and Android) and whenever you see a little smartphone icon on the top right of any spread, simply hold the smartphone a few inches away to scan, and you'll have immediate access to additional design ideas, stories from the genius designers behind the creations, little short films and even "x-ray" features that let you "see" inside cupboards. Whoa!
But fret not. If you don't want the 328-pager delivered to your door (I keep thinking of all those trees), or just can't wait, you can still access the wonder of the 2013 IKEA catalog and all the bonus content online right now at the IKEA site. Between this new interactive catalogue and the IKEA "How to Build" YouTube channel they launched, it seems IKEA's innovation for customers is headed way beyond furniture design. -Jeana
The IKEA app is available for free for iOS and Android devices.
