Even though my kids still have weeks left of school, Memorial Day weekend feels like the unofficial start of summer to me. For that reason, we've had the latest Okee Dokee Brothers' release, Can You Canoe?, on heavy rotation because its songs about the great outdoors seem perfect for this weekend--especially the title song which has us all ready to spend our days floating out on the lake. Can You Canoe? reminds me of all the days I spent canoeing on my grandmother's pond, a summer pastime I am happily passing on to my kids. And with lines like "We don't need no outlets, we don't need no wires, primetime entertainment will be lightning bugs and fires. . .", it's a great call to unplug for a couple of days and enjoy the weekend. With or without a paddle. -Christina Download a copy of Can You Canoe? from our affiliate Amazon. You can hear it in its entirety on The Okee Dokee Brothers' website. Also don't miss the video which has some stunning footage of the duo's month-long trip down the Mississippi.
